HOUSE TOUR HEAVEN
Woke up in Dublin today and feeling fabulous, especially since the clocks went back and we had an extra hour in bed!
The house tour got off to a great start in Bristol on Friday night. I got to catch up with friends and meet a mad history teacher who insisted on dancing and singing along during the second half of the evening. I'm sure you'll catch a glimpse on the video diary when it goes up on MYSPACE. It ended with a very late night and stupidly early start to catch our Dublin flight.
Arriving in Dublin again always brings back so many memories of living here and i was really looking forward to seeing everyone at the gig. Ben and i spent the day trying to stay awake and loved every minute with Ali and Anton catching up on the last 6 months. Ben was especially pleased that Anton had bought Pro Evo and an extra controller, so they spent most of yesterday afternoon kicking the crap out of each other.
We walked into Catrin's house (our gig host) last night to the smell of home baked muffins. The Arga was pipping hot and candles lit the room full of cosy sofa's, people mingling to the sound of musicians tuning their guitars.
The gig went really well. I was so nervous to start but soon got used to the silence and abundance of eyes staring intently. It was great to do a little question and answer session at the end and chat to people during the night about why i was doing a house tour in the first place...long story!
We're about to head out now for a walk in the mountains on such a beautiful day...til the next instalment, Love juliaX

RISEN FROM THE BED
Hey People, i've finally risen from the bed and feel well enough to play again!! I can't believe i was i'll for the whole of Jan..quite depressing but i'm back and raring to go!! I've just been checking out the Roundhouse gig footage from December so will upload a few of the songs i sang on the night and will put together a montage of all the performers who made the night something to treasure. Enjoy! SEE IT ON WWW.MYSPACE.COM/JULIAHARRISMUSIC

BIG CELEBRATIONS
WOW, time has indeed flown! I've just looked at my last entry and can't believe i was talking about my summer holidays..seems ancient history.
Well alot has happened since then! I recorded my first music video, went off to Bulgaria to work in two orphanges which was one of the most fantastic experiences this year. I've also appeared on two radio shows, played Birmingham Synphany Hall, been invited to showcase on two TV programmes, The Setlist and Unsigned which previews on the 25th Jan, and i'm just coming to the end of another successful tour...and thats just the last couple of months. DEEP BREATH..I hope 2007 is just as exciting!
Today i've been running about like a headless chicken trying to sort out the Roundhouse Gig. I can't believe it sold out within 2 days..i was gobsmacked!! I collected about 70 homemade mince pies and welsh cakes this morn, then had a tea break shortly after just incase they were poisonous! Its been very exciting getting everything ready, and there have been plenty of musicians lining up to play. I going to take my video cam along to get some footage for myspace so all you lovelies don't miss out!
Before i head off for the party i just wanted to thank everybody for their support this year. Its been so fab and i couldn't do it without you...and of course my manager (just incase he reads this!). I really hope you have a brill Christmas and New Year and hope to catch you in 2007.
Peace
JuliaX

I'M BACK
Heys guys just thought i should check in as i've been back from my holls for a couple of weeks and getting up to all sorts of cool stuff in the mean time! Had a good one though doing a bit of surfing, jumping off cliffs, fishing, drinking ale and went to a pottery workshop and made my own bowl!! How cool! (well i think so).
On the 30th August i embarked on an epic journey to Porthcawl to do my first ever music video! I had a really cool team of people on the shoot from 6721, so i felt a bit less embarrassed about the whole thing! Alot of the day was about making a prat out of myself anyway in front of random people wanting to be on TV or happy snappers just in case i appear on TOTP's (even though it insn't on TV anymore)! I think i must of sang through These Days about twenty times.
I've seen a sneek preview this week and they've done a fab job, it just looks and feels natural and fun, none of this cheesy posey nonsense! We should be posting it up on the site soon as so keep a look out.
I also got a phone call from the Pop Factory last week to come and be part of a show for ITV. I recorded live versions of Silence and Your Love and got to see Morcheeba and The Poppies in action. Embrace were there the day before so it looks like its going to be a real mix of music on the show soon to be aired in the next couple of months.
I'm still trying out studios and working on some new material. There should be a new release soon, an up tempo version of a song..i'm not saying which just yet!
I've also just confrimed that i'll be going on a trip to Bulgaria again to spend some time working with orphans leaving Oct 11th. I've been there the last four years doing music and art with the young people and have built up some really great relationships. I'm planning a last minute fundraiser for the end of Sept/early Oct so keep your eye on the gigs page in the next week. It will be a night of music supported by local musicians in Cardiff, raising funds to buy gifts such as gloves, socks, soap, art materials, sports equipment etc for the young people at the orphanage.
Your support would mean so much to me and the rest of the team going out so please come down and support the night.
Take Care Love JoolsX

PEN TO PAPER
Yo yo yo! Hello again fine people of the world. I can't believe its been a whole month since leaving my job and going full time, it seems to be flying by and i don't think i've hardly seen the sun. I've had my head firmly in the sand writing away til the early hours, inventing new tunes and melodies and almost forgot the world was out there! I've had weddings coming out of my ears too nearly every weekend. It was great to catch up with some friends from Ireland for one of them, had such a laugh..i'm tempted to put up a video of us dancing at the wedding party on Myspace...they'll kill me!! Ha HA. I Also sang at Sam and Hannahs wedding (congrats guys) and think i could of sold a bunch of CD's to all the people asking about the songs afterwards. Hope to catch all you guys up in Leeds again very soon.
I've been visiting some studios the last couple of weeks for doing potencial recording sessions, so its been fun meeting some new creative people and testing out some of my song ideas. I recently bought a loop pedal so have been layering vocals and guitar parts and coming up with some more wacky stuff as well. I'm hooking up with the keyboard player from the band Spiritualised this Thursday to try out a couple of tunes and see what we come up with...can't wait! He has the most amzing place in the Welsh hills which should be inspiring for much needed 2nd verses!!
August will be a quiet month. I have a few gigs scattered about, yet another wedding to go to and most importantly my holiday, camping in sunny West Wales and surfing on Whitsands Bay.
Well, i hope all of you have a lovely Summer. I'll look forward to catching you at a gig soon. I'm back on the road from September so be sure to check the gigs page for one near you. Otherwise let us know if you'd like me to play a gig in your town/city if you don't see it up there!
All my love
Julia X

100%
Yello! Hope you're all enjoying the wonderful sunshine we've been having the last week or so. Make sure you're putting your SPF on and all that to keep those wrinkles away!
Some of you may already know the recent news if you're on MYSPACE. Just recently handed in my notice at work as i've decided to give the whole music thing a go. Its really exciting and really scary at the same time, feel like the pressure is on to make it work and fast! Been talking about it for a while and feel ready to give 100%, and everyone's been really supportive.
It means a whole load of things can start happening, from having time to write the album and start recording while everyone's transfixed on the World Cup and also take on more gigs as i won't have to be around to do another job...THIS IS MY JOB!! (well from July officially).
Also some more BIG news. Just about to sign a digital distribution deal with Pinnacle which means that These Days will officially be released 26th June through iTunes, Virgin, HMV, Tesco, Karma Dowloads, Napster, and a few more i can't remember SO GO DOWNLOAD IT ON 26TH AND YOU"LL MAKE ME A VERY HAPPY LADY! The These Days EP, Swansea Sessions and Everything Under The Sun will also be available to buy via downloads. So Whoop Di Do Da!! Also have TShirts for sale now at gigs, but they'll be available to purchase from the shop as soon as i find some lovely people to model them for the shop page. Feel free to volunteer yourself!!
So there is quite a bit going on at the mo. To keep up more regulalry then join MYSPACE.com as i will be keeping video diaries and posting new song ideas as i write for the album. Please get in touch via email if you have any favourite songs you'd like to see appear on the album. Find me at www.myspace.com/juliaharrismusic
Well, i think i've waffled on too much for now. See you soon

LIFE O LIFE
Well, been in bed all of bank holiday weekend due to glands the size of golf balls! Going to the quacks this sarvo, so will hopefully get some strong stuff that will drive them into next year. Had some bad news too (sure you'll get the idea), so its been a wierd one alright!
Been a busy bee as ever though still trying to organise the launch. Its well and truely creeping up on me. I just ordered some cute little badges - spent the all last week designing them so you'd better like em'! Looking for some beautiful people to model the Tshirts too for a little photo that will appear on the SHOP page, so if you fancy your chances come along to the launch and have some fun!
If you are a MYSPACE member then check out some home recordings i've put up of a couple a gigs back in February. I'll be chopping and changing them throughout the year and will deffinatley add one of the launch in a few weeks!
Have a good week

CHOCOLATE
Hey Folks, hope you've had a lovely Easter. I've had an unusually quiet week so its been great just hanging out with family and friends...and eating chocoalate of course! I'm convinced that my chocolate covered coffee beans call to me in the night, they are so addictive.
As some of you may know, I visit Bulgaria every year to work in two Orphanages near Vidin. A team from Wales went out last Friday. I couldn't afford to go this time, but felt compelled to help towards the trip in some way. I ended up donating a precious guitar to Yavor, a Bulgarian musician and founder of the charity that works alongside the Orphans. I'm sure he'll bring lots of smiles to those wonderful Children. There is another chance to go in October and I've already started saving my pennies. I'm planning to do a fundraiser for the trip nearer the time which will enable continued support to Yavor and his team.
The launch for the new EP is fast approaching which is really exciting. Seems like ages since i did a gig in Cardiff and released new material. I've been working on a banner this week to hang on one of the walls at the venue. It encorporates the swirl design you'll see on the new release. I can't believe it took me all afternoon to just to paint some lines on a piece of canvas. But hey it will all be worth it! Just have to tie up a load of loose ends this week, especially advertising and getting the tickets printed for all you lovelies to buy. There are going to be a limited amount so you'll have to be double quick. It should be a fab night though, i LOVE a good party!!
A fab Easter....the diet starts now!

ONLINE AT LAST!
So at last I have a computer again after nearly three years and it's bliss. Got it just over a week ago and I can't get off it cause i guess i'm just trying to catch up with everything. Its nice not having to scav a computer to check emails and try and keep you guys updated.
As you may have noticed, i'm doing a few gigs over the next couple of months, so it would be great to see some familier faces around the place. I'm hoping to catch up with friends along the way and get a chance to write some new material. I've got a few riffs i'm working on...just a bit stuck with the lyrics as always. I need something interesting or wierd to happen in the next few weeks...NO FLASHERS though!
Just put a post up on myspace about a FREE DOWNLOAD!!! I'm putting up a working demo version of 'These Days', a new song i've been singing at the end of gigs. Go to www.myspace.com/juliaharrismusic to have a listen.
ENJOY x

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Hey people...BIG, no HUGE aplogies for the loss of contact at the end of the year. I still haven't got the internet at home and its driving me insane...hopefully i'll have my own computer again by the end of January, and can email and update stuff till the cows go moo.
I kinda got caught up in the tour throughout October and November, then hid away in the studio for a few days in December. It sure was a mad end to the year and I'm desperately trying to get you all some new material to listen to!
I had an exciting time with designers at a company called 6721 just before Crimbo. We've nearly finalised the artwork for the CD cover and are working on some new postcards and poster ideas too. Hopefully the website will get a little TLC too. I'm wanting to put up some new Photos, music, and would really like to have some video footage i've got from various live gigs.
I'm looking forward to the next lot of gigs mostly kicking off in February, but there are a couple happening this month so check them out if you get a chance.
I've also joined myspace and will be posting some extra live mp3's to download..more info on the news page!!
Well, be in touch people...i'll write musch sooner next time..promise!!

I'M NO STALKER!!
Hey there..another chance to fill you in on the lastest.
Having a chilled out Sunday afternoon preparing for the gig tonight in Worchester. Glad to realise the clocks went back today, as i felt quite quilty staying in bed till 11.
I've had a great time so far on the tour. Its been cool that people are getting into the music and enjoying the experience like me. It's so wierd to think that this is my main job at the monent..quite serial...dream like.
Its great that i'm not doing all the gigs on my todd. Wal the bass player is joining me for alot of the local dates, and my sister came along for the weekend in Scotland. Thanks to Shamila and Jason for letting us kip on their spare bed! I seem to be pulling a lot of favours from friends around the country..they are feeding me well!!
I'm looking forward to getting back into the studio too, desperate to get the album started as soon as i finish up the tour. I'm getting more ideas for songs as i drive from place to place..the note book is filling up! I LOVE people watching, but i'm NO stalker!
Back soon

CHILLIN’
Hello peeps, just thoughtn I’d do a quick waff whilst in Dublin. Having a great time so far catching up with mates and generally chilling out a bit before gigging gets manic again. Enjoying the fresh guiness but remembering how quickly money gets eaten up here.
Looking forward to going to a mates wedding tomorrow and seeing lots of familier faces. Then heading to do a radio show on Sunday which I’m a bit nervous about, as I have to play some tunes and choose all the music for the hour long show….i’m sure i’ll be dragging Ben along to give a hand! You should be able to listen online if you’ve got a computer handy.
Anyways, hope to see some ofyou guys at the Barfly gig a week Thursday!
Out of here JoolsX

GUINESS
Hey peeps, just managed to pop in to my folks and give a little update.
Been really hectic the last couple of weeks trying to lay down a track ready for sale at the cardiff Barfly gig this month. I'm really excited about this one, especially as i should have a band behind me adding some much needed funk! Heading down to Wals tomorrow actually to hopefully finish something up before i head to Dublin on Wednesday. I can't wait to see all our friends, have a pint of the black stuff and play the Ruby Sessions again as this is the first time back to the Emerald Isle since Ben and I moved back in February.
It should be all go then with a load of gigs lined up. It feels good to be playing every week and not going to work and wipe snotty noses! I'll look forward to doing it alot more hopefully, especially as i'm planning to release the album in the new year. I really appreciate everyone who's made it down to the gigs so far...London was a blast!

OUT 'N' ABOUT
Can't believe its been a month since I've had chance to talk about all the stuff that's been happening. Had a really great holiday in West Wales, lots of chilling out, walking, swimming, and of course drinking the fine Ale 'Farmers Arms' had to offer!!
Had a really great open mic down at The Gate at the beginning of the month?absolutely packed out and people seemed like they didn't want to leave. If you ever get the chance to pop down and play you'll have a receptive audience. I played with Wal, the double bassist and tried out some of the new tunes that have been going around in my head. It's been really cool doing some recording lately too, especially as I got to spend a week down at Wals without any distractions. Very excited about trying the new sound out at next months gigs. Hope you can make it down for a listen!
Be back soon JoolsX

HAPPY HOLIDAYS
Hey People, just got back from a great session in the studio! Looks like i'll be getting something out ready for the tour in October..hopefully in the shape of an EP.
I've just had a mad month of weddings so sorry its taken a while to catch up. I was really chuffed to play at my cousin Gemma's wedding. I sang Above the breezes as they took their vows and a Stevie Wonder number, Signed,Sealed,Delivered as they signed the register..Amazing day!
Ben and I are off to West Wales tomoroow to start our holiday. I absolutely love camping down there, it brings back so many cool memories - first girly holiday, first time drunk, first time surfing the big wide ocean! I can't wait to pitch up and see the amazing sunsets Whitsands Bay has to offer. If any off you guys are down in St Davids then i'm sure we'll bump into you at the Farmer's Arms for a swift pint!
Guess I'll say peace out for the next two weeks. The next gig is the open mic down at the Gate the second thursday in September.
Have a good one Y'all Love juliaX

LAYING LOW BUT NOT TOO LOW
I'm really getting into this now! I just wanted to let you know that i'm not doing much live stuff over the next couple of months. I think there are only two gigs left (excluding weddings) before we hit August. If you can't wait until September, I am going to be hosting an open mic night at The Gate Arts Centre in Cardiff every second thursday of every month. I'm going to play a few songs throughout the night but i'd encourage you all to bring a poem, story or merry tune. It kicks off at 9pm. This month i'm doing it this Thursday 21st as i had to swap last week, i hope this isn't too confusing!
Hope to see you there
Love JoolsX

GRIT
Hello people,
Just had the chance to pop to the in-laws to give you an update. Cannot believe that Ben and I still don't have a computer..poor musicians huh!
Anyways, its been a good few weeks. I've spent little bits here and there in the studio. I would deffinately prefer to spend a week or two in there but something (my Stomach) tells me that i have to eat! Its been really fun experimenting with the songs though. I'm aware that i don't want to loose my edge and grittyness (if thats a word?). I just hope that some of you are pleaseantly surprised when you hear the new stuff in the Autumn.
Love joolsX

BANG
Hi Guys, been a whirlwind of a month so soz for not clicking in for a chat. I've had a packed June so far and i'm sure it will even end with a BANG. Most of my family have their birthdays in June so its deffinatley been a party month, especially as my birthday was at the beggining and Ben had his yesterday. Its also our third wedding anniversary this week so its all go!
I've also been catching up with old friends, making new ones and heading to beach alot in this gorgeous weather we're having. West Wales has seen alot of me too as i've been spending a bit of time up in Wals studio getting some material down. Hopefully Wal will be playing some gigs with me after the summer.
I had some cool gigs in London last week that went really well. I've got a brill picture i'll upload to go with this waffle asap so you can see my crazy mate Jude! Hope you've all had an equally fun month. Speak to you soon, love JoolsX

JAM SANDWICH
Hey peeps! Hope you've all had a good week. I finished work early today and headed west down the M4 to have a Jam with a guy called Wal. We started off playing with some ideas and then recorded a song of mine..great way to start the weekend. He has the most awesome sounding upright bass that pretty much kicked butt, and it was totally what i'd been wanting to try for a while, especially as i'm thinking about adding more instruments for the album. I'll hopefully be able to give you a taster soon and would appriciate any feedback.
Not many look forward to Monday's, but its my Birthday Monday the 6th so it should be a good one!!
Have a cracker of a weekend
Love JuliaX

NUMERO UNO
Helloooo lovely people and welcome to the wonderful world of Harris.
I can't promise to be as crude as Big Bro, but hopefully I'll give you a little insight to what goes on behind the scenes. I'll be adding to the waff on a regular basis so keep clicking to catch up on the lastest goss. Today I ate Thai curry and am mostly wearing my red jacket.
See you soon love joolsX
